These Terms & Conditions apply to all quotations, installations, services, maintenance, monitoring, repairs, and equipment supplied by Security Matters (“we”, “us”, “our”) to the customer (“you”, “your”).
By accepting a quotation, making any payment, instructing us to proceed, or permitting works to commence, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions in full.
1.1 Security Matters provides security-related systems and services, including, but not limited to, CCTV, alarms, access control, networking, monitoring, maintenance, and associated works.
1.2 All systems are provided as a deterrent and risk-reduction aid only and do not guarantee the prevention of loss, damage, or unauthorised access.
1.3 No system supplied or installed by Security Matters shall be deemed a life-safety or fail-safe system unless expressly stated in writing.
2.1 Quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
2.2 Quotations are based on information available at the time and assumed site conditions.
2.3 Any variation arising from unforeseen conditions, additional customer requirements, or inaccurate information shall be chargeable.
2.4 Verbal representations are not binding unless confirmed in writing.
3.1 Invoices are payable within 14 days of issue unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3.2 Deposits may be required before commencement.

3.4 Late payments shall accrue interest at 4% above the base rate, calculated daily.
3.5 Title to all equipment remains with Security Matters until payment is received in full, regardless of installation status.
4.1 You must provide safe, uninterrupted access, power, network connectivity, and suitable working conditions.

5.1 Security Matters accepts no responsibility whatsoever for:
5.2 Any work involving existing equipment is undertaken entirely at the customer’s risk.
6.1 Maintenance agreements apply only to equipment expressly listed in the agreement.
6.2 Monitoring services rely on third-party networks, power, and communication systems beyond our control.

7.1 Manufacturer warranties apply where applicable.

8.1 Security Matters shall not be liable for damage or replacement costs arising from fire, flood, storm, lightning, electrical surge, accident, vandalism, misuse, neglect, or malicious damage.
8.2 We do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free, or continuous system operation.
8.3 Security Matters does not act as an insurer and accepts no responsibility for losses that could have been insured by the customer.
8.4 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for:
8.5 Our total liability, howsoever arising, shall be strictly limited to the total amount paid by the customer for the specific service or installation giving rise to the claim.
9.1 The customer shall fully indemnify Security Matters against all claims, losses, damages, or costs arising from:

Security Matters shall not be liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, extreme weather, supply chain disruption, power failure, or network outage.
13.1 The customer is the data controller for all CCTV footage.
13.2 Compliance with data protection and privacy laws is the sole responsibility of the customer.
13.3 Security Matters accepts no liability for misuse or unlawful deployment.
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Guernsey, and the courts of Guernsey shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
These Terms & Conditions constitute the entire agreement and override all prior communications or representations.
